Multiple IMAP Migration backup

Hi,

I basically have two email accounts that I would like to migrate to ONE MS Exchange account using the IMAP migration tool. Here is my current setup:

1) Both email accounts end with @mycompanyname.com, but both with different service providers (one from gmail, one from a different company, lets call it ABC)

2) When I do the migration to user@mycompanyname.com on Exchange, it successfully synced one of the email accounts, from gmail

However, when I try to do a migration from the other ABC company, it will say the email has been synced completely, even if I specify a completely different IMAP server. 

What is the best way to sync both email accounts to that one email on Exchange?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Office 365 Outlook accout size

Hi

Just wondering is there a limit in Office 365 Outlook inbox size I been told that you can’t have more than 4GB in your inbox and limited to 4000 emails only.

Is this correct.

security token could not be authenticated

I am attempting to migrate 3 mailboxes to exchange online 1 at a time. New mail is going to exchange online fine but when I run Exchange Hosted Services Directory Syncronization to migrate the mailboxes I get an error after I put my username and password in;

Web Service Operation Failed. The security token could not be authenticated or authorized. --> authentication failed.

I just want to migrate my 3 mailboxes. Should be really simple I hope.

Managing email (Hotmail) between desk top and I phone

I had the older version I phone and was able to easily access my email on hotmail and when I deleted email from phone it DID NOT delete from my desktop which was great since my husband and I share an email address at home.

We recently upgraded to Iphone 4 and it brings up emails BUT if delete an email from either of our phones it ALSO AUTOMATICALLY deletes email from my desk top.  I am getting extremely frustrated since my husband is deleting emails on his phone (thus our desktop) that I need to see/work on.  How do I change back to the "old" way?

Secondly- I have created subfolders under hotmail to save emails.  When on Iphone 4 could at first access these when in hotmail but now when I bring up the subfolder it shows "updated" but nothing appears under the subfolders.  How do I access emails under these subfolders again when on my phone?

I am not the most computer literate but trying the best that I can..... Thanks.

Archive email on Office 365

Dear All,

we have moved our exchange server 2010 mailbox users to Office 365 online on the cloud and now are planning to use archive feature to store users emails but have some queries and require your input to provide assistance in this connection.

  •  How to apply archive policy on all users in the organization not an individual on office 365?
  •  Is there any way to archive users email from office 365 online to local storage or JBOD ?
  •  In case of discontinue cloud base services, it is possible to read archive email from any other way ?
  •  Any need of Exchange server software to install on local server to search archive emails ?

Kindly let me know if you required any clarification on this query.

Hello,

I am using Microsoft online service since last 2 years or so.

Problem:- Not able to connect to bl2prd0510.outlook.com

Problem description:-  I have users with multiple outlook servers configured in there Microsoft outlook.bl2prd0510.outlook.com server is not reachable for users. Rest users having no issues. All users on same internet link with same settings. No changes or no VLAN policy etc.

We check with local ISP and they gave us following output from there end >>

TATA#telnet 216.32.180.22 80 /v V21431:Internet_VPN-s /source-interface loop 12346

Trying 216.32.180.22, 80 ...

% Connection timed out; remote host not responding

Can some1 help to resolve this issue? This issue seems to be of DNS issue from Microsoft end. Even 4.4.4.4 DNS is unable to resolve above URL. Is it possible that we can contact Microsoft & ask them to shift those users to another mailbox server i.e.ch1prd0511.outlook.com orsn2prd0510.outlook.comwithout paying any extra charge?



Users cannot send as distrobution group

Hi,

I am trying to allow 3 users send as a distrobution email address from their mailbox, but i cannot seem to get it to work. Once they send the email it just bounces back with an message saying...

"You are not allowed to send this message because you are trying to send on behalf of another sender without permission to do so. Please verify that you are sending on behalf of the correct sender, or ask your system administrator to help you get the required permission."

I have searched and tried a number of things from the powershell command line.

1) Set-DistributionGroup "group" -GrantSendOnBehalfTo "user"

2) Add-ADPermission "group" -ExtendedRights Send-As -user "user"

Output :

I have also made sure that the distrobution group has the correct permissions

Is there something im missing here?

Global Address List Synchronization

We are considering migrating our exchange to exchange online. Global Address List synchronization from multiple on-premises Active Directory forests is not available with Exchange online. Has anyone been able to get around this? Are there any 3rd party tools to overcome this?

Attachments disappear from received email in outlook 2003/2007, but the attachments showed in OWA.

We find some Received email, that don't show the attachments(pdf, doc) in outlook 2003, but it showed all in OWA.
Sometimes work well from same sender.
The sender send the same mail to yahoo or hotmail, it works.

this time attached 3 file, but showed 2 file and invisbled 1 file.
We forwarded it to same domain's other email at OWA, it appeared.
We forward it to other email in outlook, but the outlook email only contained 2 files(but the email had 3 attachments).

Last month we try forwarded the 6MB mail with invisbed files to same account in outlook, but it not work.
And it send to same domain's other email or use OWA to send to same account, it works.

I just started as the first IT guy for a small/mid sized company with a fairly high employee turnover rate.

We have an Outlook Exchange plan with 40 or so email accounts and we don't want to pay to keep accounts active that are no longer in use.

When we have an employee leave, I reset their password, log into their account, archive their inbox, and then delete the inbox from Exchange online.

Then I open up their supervisors mailbox settings and add the other email addresses under E-mail options so effectively I am forwarding any new email to that box to the supervisor.

This works great accept anyone that has the email saved in their contacts cannot send to the account.  Even though the email is removed from the global address book it is saved on employees contact info.  The server replaces the username account with some fully qualifed server name and unique string that causes the message to be undeliverable.  Even deleting the email address from the contacts the original exchange server info keeps popping up when you begin to type the old employees address.

Is there a better way to handle terminated employees without paying to keep a bunch of useless boxes open?

Retrieving archived Outlook after an Operating system upgrade

I am trying to restore my Outlook archive file.  I upgraded from Windows XP and I also upgraded from Office 2007.  I did a clean install for the new operating system, Windows 7.  My Outlook was archived to the C drive.  Before installing the new system, I backed everything up to an external hard drive, using the Windows Backup Utility.  I also backed everything up on Carbonite.  I opened Outlook 2010 and I got all my Hotmail emails, but I have been unable to recover my old archived emails; I am missing 2006 through 2009.  Apparently I have tried to import the wrong files because I get empty Archived folders.  How do I know which files are my archived emails (I have several backups on my hard drive), and how do I restore them?

Catch all email addresses

Because folks can't seem to get this answered , I will ask it again.  Does MS Online Services Hosted Exchange support   "Catch all" addresses?  For those who keep asking what is it?


 

Catch All or Default email address

The default or CatchAll address is the one, to which all e-mails, addressed to a non-available or mistakenly entered email account at your domain name are routed to. In case someone sends an email to info@yourdomain.com and you do not have such an address, the Catch all option will forward this email to your default email address.


Yes... this invites spam...but if you are small business as what MS Onlines Services is appealing to  you want to make sure  you don't miss an email

Merging multiple emails at multiple domains into single accounts

Dear Communinity Members,

Recently I've come across rather odd and complicated email configuration that my client would like to migrate to Exchange Online. My client has 3 domains, let's call themdomainA.com, domainB.com and domainC.com. My client employees may have one or more email accounts on one or more domain, but they may also have different aliases on each, for example:

  • office@domainA.com, but also office@domainB.com and office@domainC.com- all three should come to a single mailbox, because these emails are supervised by a single person
  • john@domainA.com, but also john.tester@domainB.com and john.developer@domainC.com - these are email addresses of the same person, John
  • david@domainA.com, but no other email or domain
  • etc.

My client would like to be able to receive all emails for same user (john,john.tester, john.developer or office on all three domains) in a single mailbox and be able to answer to those email preserving the From account. Meaning that if to mailbox ofjohn@domainA.com comes email sent to john.tester@domainB.com, John will answer usingjohn.tester@domainB.com email account, not john@domainB.com.

Do you have experience in such solutions? What would be the best configuration in Exchange Online for my customer?

Outllok for mac delegate

EWS Delegation issue

Hi all,

I have the following situation

Exchange 2010 and outlook for mac up to date

email address A: name.surname@domain.com

email address B: info@domain.com

A has delegation for "send on behalf of" for B

what i'd like to do is:

1) all new email from A are by default written "on behalf of"
2) sent email on behalf of stored in B "sent email"

Standard configuration is not what i need.

I found an interesting configuration:

in account settings if you setup email address of B and user login of A you have: only 1 account with B folders, you send by default email "on behalf of" but email that you have sent are received by the recipient but aren't stored in any folders, simply disappear. I really think this is a EWS bug.

Plese note that i can't use B address as separated account, by policy i have to use "behalf of"

any ideas?


what time email was deleted

Dear All,

My organization is on Office 365 online and had moved all emails on Cloud. One of my user deleted important email from inbox and deleted from deleted folder as well. I got that email from recovery deleted items but my intention is to get the exact information about what time the email was deleted.

Can some one provide assistance to get the date and time of deleted email.

Different administrators to different SUBDOMAINS in office 365???

Hi

For example : we need to have ourdomain.com (root) with some users,  teama.ourdomain.com, teamb.ourdomain.com, teamc.ourdomain.com...etc  each subdomain contains users as group and each subdomain must have  its ownadministratorto manage the contentsof this domainonly.

What is describedhererefers to theExchange Online.Maybe there is somethingsimilar for Office 365???

Use IDN-Domains (Internationalized Domain Name) with Exchange Online?

Hi everybody,

I also have one Family-Domain with a german Umlaut in my Portfolio (bäumel.de / IDN: xn--bumel-gra.de). I tryed to add that Domain as IDN to Exchange-Online which worked so far with authentication.

But I can not activate incoming Mails for that Domain; get error Message "Unexpected Error". Are IDN-Domains supported, or not?

Multiple users mostly using windows 7 and IE 8 and 9 cannot from a keyboard print screen or alt print screen and then do a right click paste or cntrl v into a new email or reply in OWA for Microsoft online.

Exchange Online Basic Questions.

Hi,

I have a few simple questions about exchange online which I could not find easily.

1. Microsoft Support?

It says it has 24/7 phone support. Is that to Microsoft normal support number. So I live in Australia - can I phone a local number
and get support 24/7? So the usual Microsoft Australia support number?

2. Antivirus / Antispam?

There seemed to be different links that talk about forefront protection. So I am unsure does the Exchange online offering come with AntiSpam/Antivirus protection
or do I need to pay extra for it?

3. Office Licence?

If I get this does it come with the Office software or Microsoft Outlook or do I need to go buy it?

4. Office 365?

If I subscribe to Exchange Online does that mean I get Office 365 as well? The web site seems to suggest some connection between the two.

Send with alternate Email address

Hello

I have the following problem. On our BPOS, we have a domain with severall domain names enabled and authorised. We have now one user (one mailbox) with different alternate addresses. For example. John@xyz.com and John@stz.com. How can I set up Outlook in order for this user to choose from which address he is sending his emails? If I change the from address to the alternate address (not standard email address) than I get the message that this user is not allowed to send an email as this user.

I know it works if the user would have alternate names like johnA@xyz.com and BJohn@xyz.com.

Has anybody an idea how to do that?
